Jesus’ resurrection and beyond

2 April 2025

The joy and the hope that are ours because of our Lord’s victorious resurrection are real. God’s people of the 21st century can learn to live victoriously for Jesus in these troubled times. Perhaps the real meaning of the Easter season will always have its greatest impact on the broken-hearted, the frightened, the lonely and the desperate. Think of the implications the resurrection of Jesus has for the unrest, pessimism and fears that are so rampant in our world these days. Our Lord Jesus lives! He reigns! ‘He’s got the whole world in his hands!’

After the victory of the resurrection, the triumph of the ascension, and the outpouring of the Spirit on Pentecost, the early disciples moved out with faith-filled enthusiasm for their Lord Jesus Christ. Now, as 21st-century disciples, we can do the same. Proclaim the good news by what we say and do to those around us. You can be the living and walking proof that there is resurrection from the dead in the name of Jesus.

Lutheran Tract Mission (LTM) has many resources to help you share the resurrection story, which is our story as well! Look on the LTM website at www.ltm.org.au, search for Easter, and see what you can find to help you explain the extreme love of God in giving his Son for us and raising him to new life.

May the joy we have in Christ’s resurrection give you the hope of eternal life with him forever.

‘“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ’ (1 Corinthians 15:55–57).

Anne Hansen is Lutheran Tract Mission’s Tract Development Officer.
